Linda Fields of King of Prussia has been selected as president of the 2020-21 YWCA Tri-County Area board of directors.
Fields, who joined the board in 2019 as a member, was named president at YW’s annual meeting in June. She is the founder and CEO of PowerUp Le Femme, an organization dedicated to engaging and empowering women in business and politics. She also founded the PowerUp political action committee, focusing on racial and gender equality. In addition, Fields is an ordained minister.
Rounding out the board’s leadership are Tara Smith of Pottstown, vice president; Pauline McGibbon of Collegeville, secretary; and Karen McDougal of Pottstown, treasurer. Board officers will serve through June 2021.
Tumeka Henry of Spring City has joined the board as a new member for 2020-21; she previously had served on YW’s board for eight years. She is a project manager at Exelon Limerick Generating Station. She will serve a three-year term.
YWCA Tri-County Area is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. YW is a leader in advocacy for women and girls, works to eliminate racism, and lives its mission through affordable early childhood education, adult literacy, and a host of programs to support the health and vitality of women, girls, and families.
