Kimyetta Lewis, YW3CA’s Early Education Center Family Welcome Advisor at the YW3CA, and her daughter found hope and inspiration in the organization’s mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. After relocating to Pottstown during the pandemic, they were warmly welcomed into the YW3CA community.

Kimyetta enrolled her daughter in the Early Education Center, where she found a community of supportive teachers, peers, and administrators.
YW3CA’s Early Education Center is dedicated to building a classroom community where children feel safe making connections with others. Kimyetta has developed many meaningful relationships with teachers, peers, and the EEC receptionist, Ms. Toola, whom she affectionately calls the mayor of the YW. “The EEC is an excellent place for children to learn, grow, and thrive!”
Dedicated EEC Staff, including Kimyetta, emphasize the individual needs of children and their families inside and outside the classroom. EEC students are cared for beyond the classroom with weekly food pantries for families, coat drives, holiday meals, and so much more.
Embraced wholeheartedly by YW3CA, Kimyetta, having witnessed the transformative impact on her family, now extends that warm welcome to others in our community. As the Family Welcome Advisor at the EEC, she has forged profound connections, sharing experiences and resources to engage with the community on a deeper level.
