INTERNSHIP SUMMARY
This internship opportunity will be an experience in working with YW’s Adult Education and Training Center’s High School Equivalency and English as a Second Language programs. Interns will work under experienced team members including program coordinators, instructors, and student success advisors. Responsibilities include assisting with administrative duties as well as making educational content for self-paced learning, providing classroom support, participating in community outreach, and creating digital resources. This would be a great opportunity for someone looking to learn more about adult education and workforce development pathways. The intern will gain valuable insight on how non-profits are run as well as how they can go about creating change at a local level.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work directly with staff and students to assist in the classroom and behind the scenes.
- Participate in internal performance improvement initiatives.
- Co-create educational content and digital resources.
- Engage with other organizations in the community to support and reinforce health, mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Participate in strategic recruitment efforts including attending off-site community outreach events.
- When necessary, create information notices, spreadsheets, etc. related to the adult education and training programs.
- When appropriate, the Intern will accompany the Program Director or Program Coordinator to community-based meetings.
- Participate in staff meetings.
SCHEDULE
We are specifically seeking an intern who is available a minimum of 8 hours a week, but 10 hours is preferred. The schedule is flexible and can be adjusted based on availability. However, the candidate must be available at least one evening a week from 6:00PM to 8:30PM to support evening classes. The required weekly hours must be performed on-site with YWCA Tri-County Area’s Adult Education and Training Center in Norristown.
Although this internship is unpaid. Students are able to earn academic credits according to their institute's requirements. We will work with the student and academic advisor to achieve desired learning outcomes and complete all necessary paperwork.

INTERNSHIP SUMMARY
This internship opportunity will be an experience in working with advocacy outreach with the YWCA Tri-County Area (YW3CA). Interns will work under experienced team members and help assist with administrative duties as well as planning for outreach in the community to help spread awareness focused on racial inequality and gender inequities directly in line with our mission and vision statements. This would be a great opportunity for someone looking to support the development and early implementation of local advocacy campaigns. The intern will gain valuable insight on how non-profits are run as well as how they can go about creating change at a local level.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reports to Advocacy Manager
- Works directly with Program Coordinator and staff to assist in implementing YW3CA’s community advocacy efforts
- Answer inquiries and provide accurate program information. This information will be provided to the Intern during training.
- Schedule outreach events and presentations and supporting the logistics in facilitating these events
- When necessary, create information notices, spreadsheets, etc. related to advocacy program information.
- When appropriate, the Intern will accompany the Program Director or Program Coordinator to community-based meetings.
- Participate in staff meetings.
SCHEDULE
Approximate expected time commitment will be dependent upon the Internship requirements but must be able to commit to at least 10-hours a week. A flexible schedule can be identified that will align with the selected candidate’s availability and program needs. The required weekly hours must be performed on-site at YWCA Tri-County Area’s Center in Pottstown or Norristown. Regular access to a phone and a computer with internet access is required and provided by YWCA Tri-County Area.

INTERNSHIP SUMMARY
This internship is an opportunity to work with YW’s Development team. Interns will work under experienced team members including the Senior Development Manager and the Donor Relations Coordinator. The primary responsibilities of this internship include assisting with administrative duties, supporting development initiatives such as donor cultivation, fundraising, event coordination as well as database management. This would be a wonderful opportunity for someone looking to learn more about communication and public relations. Interns will also gain valuable insight on non-profit management as well as community philanthropy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop new procedures for the Development Program Manual.
- Create templates for mass mailings.
- Support event planning and communication.
- Assist with funds development.
- Explore the management of the Kindful database (YW’s donor management software).
- Collect donor data for reporting and prospecting purposes.
- Process and reconcile donor contributions.
- Support solicitation of in-kind donations
- Collaborate directly with other departments in the organization on campaigns, projects, and initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Participate in departmental staff meetings.
- Accompany Development Team to community events when appropriate.
SCHEDULE

This internship will be assisting the YWCA Tri-County Area’s Youth Empowerment Programs (YEP) from an administrative and hands-on approach. The intern’s primary responsibility will be supporting the facilitation of boys and young men programming. The intern will support and deliver social/emotional learning programs designed to increase engagement with peers, adults, and the community, and to reduce violence in the boys’ everyday lives by building skills in relationship building, conflict resolution, and self-management. This opportunity will sharpen the intern’s skills for planning and will provide valuable insight into how non-profit direct service programming is run. This would be a great opportunity for anyone with an interest in child development and community engagement.

INTERNSHIP SUMMARY
This internship opportunity supports the YWCA Tri-County Area Trauma and Prevention Services initiatives and supports opportunities for advocacy and education in the Greater Pottstown area. The Trauma and Prevention Services Associate works directly under the direct supervision of the Trauma and Prevention Director. In cooperation with volunteers and staff, the Trauma and Prevention intern will provide advocacy, legislative analysis, coalition building, and policy research around issues related to racial trauma and healing, suicide prevention among youth, drug and alcohol prevention in marginalized communities, and equity initiatives, and support both education and program delivery around these.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support with curriculum development for organizations, businesses, schools, and staff.
- Support recruitment of staff and volunteers who will be trained to conduct the training.
- Monitor pending legislation and conduct relevant research.
- Work with staff on the progress measurements of trauma and racial equity action plans, ensuring regular check-ins and providing data and support as needed to encourage continued progress.

INTERNSHIP SUMMARY
Provide support to YWCA Tri-County Area’s development and marketing office. This unpaid internship opportunity will support efficiencies within the organization and provide real-life experience in communications, marketing, public relations, social services, and non-profit management. Intern will support task management processes, data management systems, and engagement activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Help with marketing launch of new programs
- Attend program events as needed for marketing support (e.g., taking pictures, social media)
- Assist with implementation of social media strategy (posts, blogs, videos, etc.)
- Design social media graphics as needed
- Create and distribute monthly electronic newsletters in coordination with program leadership to gather necessary content.
- Partner with YW program leadership on new marketing collateral including merchandise, program print and digital materials.
- Support creation of PowerPoint presentations for various programs, as well as about the organization as a whole.
- Create and post regular blogs on the organization’s website
- Write, edit, and help produce news releases, social media content, blog content and other articles and publications for the organization
- Post event information on community contact and calendar locations and compose press releases to include in local media
- Promote the YWCA’s brand and identity; and increase visibility through work with the local media.
- Develop presentations, materials and other content for organizational programs and community events.
- Assist in researching government and private foundation funding opportunities, identifying those that are a good fit for YWCA Tri-County Area
- Assist in writing and preparing content and statistic related program outcomes for fundraising materials, including concept papers, information packets, and brochures.
- Assist in the creation timely acknowledgment letters for grant / gifts received
- Assist in ensuring organizational voice is consistent to brand for all grant applications and submissions.
- Support advancement database management (e.g. Kindful, MailChimp, Fluxx, WordPress, Zoho)
SCHEDULE

INTERNSHIP SUMMARY
This internship will be assisting the YWCA Tri-County Area’s Substance Abuse Prevention Programs (SAPP) from an administrative and hands-on approach. The intern’s primary responsibility will be supporting YWCA’s Drug and Alcohol Prevention youth programming: YW Club Connect (elementary) and YW Got LifeSkills (middle school) – both of which utilize the state-approved, evidence-based curriculum Botvin LifeSkills. YWCA strives to provide a safe and comfortable environment for program participants to learn and grow, this position will support all facets of the lesson planning and program facilitation process.
This opportunity will sharpen the intern’s skills for planning and will provide valuable insight into how non-profit direct service programming is run. This would be a great opportunity for anyone with an interest in child development and community engagement, classroom management and curriculum development.

- In the classroom, the intern must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, to stoop, crawl, kneel, bend and stand for periods of time.

- Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to travel from site to site daily.
