YWCA Tri-County Area Receives $8,000 Grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation to Support Adult Education and Training Center
The Dollar General Literacy Foundation (DGLF) recently awarded YWCA Tri-County Area’s Adult Education and Training Center a $8,000 grant to support adult literacy. The Adult Education and Training Center in Pottstown offers adult learners opportunities to enhance foundational academic skills, achieve a high school diploma, master English as a second language, and bolster digital literacy, career planning, and job readiness.
This donation will support curriculum, supplemental reading materials, student workbooks and texts, and instruction at the Education and Training Center. ETC serves 160 adults annually in classrooms in Pottstown and Norristown,
Lori DeVore, YW3CA’s Senior Director of Adult Education expressed her gratitude for the DG Literacy Foundation “This funding will have a profound impact on our program, allowing us to expand our services and reach more individuals in need. With this support, we can enhance our educational offerings, provide essential resources, and create more opportunities for our participants to succeed.”
The Dollar General Literacy Foundation supports organizations that increase access to educational programming, stimulate and enable innovation in the delivery of educational instruction and inspire a love of reading. This local grant is a part of the Foundation’s more than $10.6 million donated to support adult education in communities with local Dollar Generals. With today’s grants, the DGLF also surpasses helping more than 20 million individuals achieve their educational dreams since its inception in 1993.
“We believe individuals of all ages deserve access to a quality education, and the Dollar General Literacy Foundation is thrilled to support thousands of learners across the country as they enrich their lives with literacy and education,” shared Denine Torr, executive director of the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.
