YW3CA Current COVID-19 Update

On Thursday, March 12, Gov. Tom Wolf issued an order that requires the closure of all public and private Montgomery County schools including their transportation systems beginning Friday, March 13, through April 30.

As a provider of state-funded early childhood education and adult education centers, YWCA Tri-County Area has closed our early education and adult education facilities through April 30. YW Early Education Center families are encouraged to contact Early Education Center staff with questions or concerns via the Tadpoles software.

YW’s Foster Grandparent program of Montgomery County has been suspended until further notice.

YW’s Youth Empowerment programming (YEP) has also been suspended through April 30. Although in-person programming has been suspended, YEP is offering virtual programming available on YW’s Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3FKeI6fxJ5moXYVDcER_4A.

YW C.H.A.M.P.S. programming will also be available through YW’s Youtube channel and on YW’s Facebook page: facebook.com/ywcatricountyarea/. While this program is designed for preschool children, all ages will benefit from these fun, weekly exercise routines.

All YW3CA spring events will be postponed including Tribute to Exceptional Women, All.Girl Leadership & Wellness Convention, Tribute to Exceptional Girls, in-person Stand Against Racism programs, and Job Fair.

YWCA’s 25th Annual Tribute to Exceptional Women, originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 24, at the Valley Forge Casino Resort, has been postponed until Monday, June 22. To stay up to date with this event, please visit: ywcatricountyarea.org/2020tribute.

To our knowledge, no one connected to YW has been infected with the Novel COVID-19 virus; however, we are using this time to thoroughly clean and sanitize all facilities.  Please know the health and safety of our program participants and their families, and of our staff, volunteers, and vendors, is of our utmost concern.

YWCA Tri-County Area is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. YW is a leader in advocacy for women and girls, works to eliminate racism, and empowers women through quality affordable early childhood education, adult education and workforce development, and a host of programs to support the health and vitality of women, girls, and families.

Thank you for your understanding, patience, and support!
